We went this week to visit the cathedral and it was lovely! I very pretty place which has had a lot of time and care dedicated to maintaining it. I would highly recommend going, the €5 is worth it and includes an audio tour.

Very interesting history and good narrative to accompany you on the way round. The construction is also interesting both in style and purpose.

It's well worth half hour of the time to drop in here, the entrance is NOT in the Plaza you have to walk around the side street to the new main entrance, so don't just walk away thinking it's closed as we nearly did.

We arrive when a service was going only so didn't want to interrupt but it is spectacular . The altar and surrounding chapels are gold ladened and ornate

So, we went to 9 am weekday mass! It's a big cube! Beautiful renaissance paintings over main alter, with lots of gold trim. Marble, granite everywhere. Very weathered on the exterior.

Reasonable entry of 6 Euros, which also gives you an audio guide giving a lot of information about the history. You are able to visit the Cathedral, courtyard and museum. Worth visiting when you are in Almeria.

Quite enjoyed the self tour. The soundtrack is rather convoluted and slightly pompous but it is informative. Beautiful architecture and paintings. Well worth €5 entrance fee.

Surprisingly small for a cathedral and fairly plain in comparison to many. Had a collection of paintings, some from 17th century which were interesting to see. But pricey for what it is and I thought the museums and Alcazaba were much more interesting (and free).

Great cathedral, not that big, but still worth seeing. €6 to enter if I remember correctly, but you get an audio guide too.
