The Jewish Quarter in Cordoba, best konown as "Juderia", is located in the very historic centre of the city, and it is considered nowadays as the most well-preserved urban site among Spanish medieval Jewish Quarter. In this environment, we invite you to start a journey trhough time and discover one of the hardest, most cruel and obscure stages of our history.

Inquisition time ...
Jun 2019
Galeria de la Inquisicion is an interesting place. We did not intend visiting it but could not resist the temptation when we stumbled on it! It was really amazing to see those incredible pieces of work, accompanied by images and relevant information. Having had some idea of the actual work of the real Inquisition, we were in awe of the sort of cruelty people imposed on others and could barely imagine the kind of horrible torture unfortunate individuals had to go through. An eye opener.....

Not worth a special trip
Oct 2019
Kind of a weird building set up with flamenco dancing stages, etc., on some of the levels, as well as the rest of the building being a torture museum about the Spanish Inquisition. Interesting I guess if you like these sorts of things, but not my cup of tea.

We could NOT find the museum
Jun 2019 • Couples
Despite asking people up & down the street & trying all the locked doors, this was no where to be found. It was one of 3 things that i wanted to do here. I’ll will look again on the PM stroll in case they open late. Very disappointed.

Interesting Museum of Torture Instruments but featuring a perverted artist
May 2019 • Solo
I've been to several museums of torture instruments, and this one was well done in terms of the instruments depicted. One left the museum being properly sobered. I can only rate it a "3" because of the strange decision to display artwork with hot-looking women naked while being tortured on the instruments. It's like some sex pervert was commissioned to do the renderings. In real life many men and non-hot women would have been tortured, but all you see is some porn star being tortured by a dirty old man. It's really weird, totally unnecessary, and not the right thing for an unsuspecting audience of tourists including families.

Small but interesting

Worth stopping in if you pass by. Not terribly well done but it did have several different types of torture instruments.

Learning opportunity

Not for the faint-of-heart for sure. But its history and that's what people were put through except nobody talks about it now. I had my kid quickly walk through but I didn't let her read anything.

Not for the squeamish/kids
Apr 2019
I found this museum interesting and it’s a very reasonable entry price - but not for everyone and certainly not for children. Has graphic pictures of torture and descriptions of how the instruments displayed were used. Shows the often gruesome reality of history and how seriously awful the Inquisition was.

Interesting Museum
Mar 2019 • Couples
I was in Cordoba with my wife for only one day and we came across this little museum.

Me, personally, I expected something a little different... a little more history. What it primarily shows, is an assortment of various torture tools, some relatively graphic depictions, and descriptions.

The descriptions are available in Spanish, English, German, and Italian. Sadly though some of the texts are rather fragmented and hard to understand as they contain many mistakes and sometimes entire words are missing. The texts also say completely different things on occasion. It felt like the translations were a bit sloppy... or just different altogether.

If you really read everything expect a 30-60min stay here. For €3 I'd recommend it, though. If you like stuff like that... that is.

A very interesting small museum
Jan 2019 • Couples
This is a great place to while away a half hour when visiting Cordoba. It was only 3 euros per person for entry and the exhibition was interesting - and gruesome!

Informative and very good small museum
Nov 2018 • Solo
I really enjoyed this small museum in Cordoba as it was informative and interesting.
The museum covers the various forms of torture used during the Spanish Inquisition, and it is always amazing to see how many forms of torture and death can be inflicted by humans on fellow human being.
Not for everyone but if you like the darker macabre side of history this could be one for you.
I thought at 3 Euro it was excellent value for money.
Definitely recommended.
