There was not much historical items to see, most of the gardens are newer and added. Still a beautiful garden, it could have been our tour guide though as we were rushed through the generalife.

We had a guided tour of the Generalife and were really impressed with the buildings, but most of all with the gardens. From the inside they were marvellous but viewed from the terrace of the Parador bar in the Alhambra in the evening they were...More

As part of our Alhambra Tour, the vast Generalife Gardens was included. Known for being the summer retreat of the Sultans, strolling through the gardens offers many photo opportunities, especially looking back across the gorge to the Alhambra citadel.

I really like his one. Very crowded, small, but very nice place. Gardens outside are a part of it and I tjis it's the best part. This place is the part of Alhambra complex and I doubt you can go only there.

Be sure to do this as part of your Alhambra tour. The gardens are amazing, well taken care of and a restful place to visit.

I could spend hours here. I recommend bringing lunch with you and eating it here. So calm and beautiful, and much larger than expected.

From Generalife you can see the rest of the Alhambra and much of its garden beautifully. There are lots of places to rest or have a drink or a snack, and every detail offers some fascinating fact about the history of Granada.

Built by the Moors when they dominated Spain for many centuries this combination of palace and gardens in Granada was the last redoubt for them. Beautiful setting in the top of a hill dominating the city.
