You are able to take an audio tour of this church that provides you with a lot of interesting information. There is also a mini-museum at the rear that was included in the tour.

It is located in the Plaza Del Pilar and has an interesting number of architectural styles to it. Originally, it was the site of an Islamic mosque......before which was a Roman site. All of this is reflective of the different conquerors of Zaragoza's history.

The most beautiful cathedral, really worth a look. When wondering around from one chapel to another within the cathedral, the detail in each individual chapel is magnificent, and the cost to maintain would be astronomical. You can see the Muslim iinfluence in a lot of the cathedrals in Zaragoza. The ceilings are beautiful, beware not to fall as you will... More

We didn't go inside, but enjoyed some peace and quiet in the plaza. The left side wall of the church is absolutely stunning. When we went on a Saturday there was an event on - maybe a wedding, and so you couldn't enter in the morning.

Not all that familiar with the insides of such a place but this one took my breath away. The grandeur, the nooks, the paintings, the floor, the roof. Needless to say it is impressive. No pictures allowed inside so see it for yourself. The little paintings done by Goya that represent the large upper dome painting are amazing. Make sure... More
