Bilbao used to be an industrial area from Spain. I love the combination of old buildings a new ones. Lovely to go for a walk. Full of bars with a great atmosphere at all times. On Sunday there are lots of places closed

Down one of the streets at night was a great place to hang out, would suit young travellers, the usual Pintchos and drinks served out on the street, lush

Wander through the "7 streets" that make the old city. Lovely churches. Spectacular Plaza Nueva. Enjoy a meal or a drink in one of the many bar/restaurants.

Casco Viejo is my kind of area... old town with plenty of character and culture. I particularly enjoy the narrow streets with quirky little bars that aren't decorated with fancy signage advertising it presence. This area is perfect for access to many parts of the city, mostly within easy walking distance.

The old town is really nice. You have local stores right in the middle of clothes shops and shops like that. Not something you see every day. Unlike in other big cities, tourists and locals go side by side. Lots of nice bars, grocery stores and shops in one area. Liked it a lot and very good accessibility by metro.

The old city centre is nice, but has become a victim of commerce. Only a few authentic spots left...

Super place to wander, browse, graze and just hang out. This little district, pedestrian in practice, contains interesting churches, picture postcard photographs in all directions, great places to buy food and other things to take home, and multiple options for eating and drinking. The friendly bars are all stacked with the typical local 'pintos' snacks - maximum interest, minimum prices... More
