well worth the hike

Not a too strenuous hike up from the old town. Well worth it for the views of the bay. Suggest packing a picnic lunch and having up top with the wonderful view.

Visited San Sebastian in May 2016, and as normal, wandered around the city trying to see the "real" city. After wandering for a few miles, seeing some of the main attractions, beach, streets and having some lunch, we decided to wander up the steps near the harbour to see where it would take us. Unknown to us, the path would... More

A short ride up the mountain takes you to an amusement park from which you can see all of San Sebastián.

It offers the best views on La Concha and the city. Several viewpoint (miradors) along the pathways. Several historical sites. Walking uphill requires some effort but the paths and stairs are well maintained. Access is free. There a small museum on top (all in Spanish).

Winding paths take you up to a fort, an imposing statue and a very interesting little museum about the area. All the information is in Spanish but here are photos and film shows to look at. Lovely views from the top.

You can wander around on the hill, but be prepared to get a workout climbing stairs or pathways. The signage is not the most helpful, but you can eventually find your way to the scenic viewpoints about midway up. There is a museum at the top.

There are a few different routes to get up the mountain. All have stunning views and weave through some beautiful forested areas. It's all on fairly good pathways, there are just a couple of sections at the top where the hand rail is handy. I have a back injury, so if I can do it anyone can. The easiest journey... More

A really nice attraction in San Sebastian. Not a very hard climb and nice views of the city and the beaches.

Great views of the city and the coast. A fun and easyish walk up a number of paths to the top of the mountain. My wife and I packed a picnic and had a beautiful day walking up and eating at the top under the big jesus statue.

I was in Donostia for a football match and had a few hours to explore and thought I'd have a walk up Monte Urgull. Wow was I rewarded! The walk up isn't long but it is steep in places, it was also very sunny which did make it a little tough going in jeans! The views over the sea and... More
