This is a fantastic gallery specialising in artists from the Basque Country. The original house is beautiful, and the modern extension full of fascinating paintings. We had the luxury of having the whole gallery to ourselves, but beware the long lunchtime closure when planning a visit..

This delightful Museum houses works which reflect the soul of Basque country as the featured artists painted of the countryside, customs, rituals and families native to their community. We were fortunate to be staying at the NH Cancilla Ayala which lies at the corner of the Senda Avenue that leads to the Museum, an imposing building of interesting architecture in... More

The Museum is off the base of the main square Plaza de Paz. Free entrance, Go to the very top and there is a viewing tower (up a small modern spiral stairwell) and you can see for miles...before you work your way down and see the original artwork, paintings, sculptures and photomontages. The place is clean and has a really... More

I was surprised how small this museum was, but it had some art which I could understand. The museum itself is worth a look. I was the only visitor. You have to walk through the Paseo de la Florida, a nice parkland/area.

We visited this museum with our multipass ticket, which applies to all the museums in the city. It is worth getting, as you can save several euros if you visit all the museums. The outside of the museum building is incredibly impressive, as are many of the houses on the street. It is worth taking some time to look at... More

Lovely stop in the Senda promenade. I didn't go in because of lack of time, but I am definitely glad I at least saw it from the outside. Such an impressive building surrounded with lots of greenery.

The museum includes great impressionist pieces from 18th to 19th centuries. The building (an old palace) and its beautiful garden are impressive, as well. Even the zone is a charming. (It is possible to find other original architectures at this part of the city.) It is closed on Mondays. Rest of the week it is open at the given hours:... More

This museum is a wonderful stop in the "Senda" promenade. There are remarkable pieces of Basque painters like Ignacio Zuloaga, Elias Salaverria, Ignacio Diaz Olano and Fernando de Amarica together together (interesting as well as represent some Basque traditions and way of life) with with other famous Spanish painters like Joaquin Sorolla and Vicente Lopez. Its visit is truly worthy.... More
