Intertesting collection of modern art

Interesting collection of modern art - some excellent some difficult to see as art - I guess that is what modern art is about.

This was a great modern art museum. The audio guides were complimentary and in English! When you walk in there is an amazing piece that acts as a wind chime when the door opens. Not really hands on but I could see older children enjoying it

The museum has a very nice and modern building. The lobby has a big aerial sphere made of plastic bottles. I was in a conference in the auditorium and the meeting rooms are comfortable.

Artium turned out to be much more interesting & enjoyable than the Guggenheim in Bilbao. With the Guggenheim it is all about the architecture of the building, the exhibitions are disappointing. Here the architecture of the building is also interesting if not as visually exciting but the permanent art works both inside & outside the building are terrific & there... More

An unusual art museum. Not my cup of tea. The building was worth a visit, although 2 of the galleries were closed when I visited, their was a reduced entrance fee.

The museum has three large chambers that house temporary exhibitions and a few permanent items. It is not as pompous and overbearing as Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, but even has some "backwater" feel to it, especially if you visit during the workdays.

The main part of the collection is formed by installations. Inspiring modern art that influences your mindset. The staff is friendly and helpfull.

Specialises in Basque art with an emphasis on special exhibitions so can be hit and miss depending on what's on at the time you visit. Impressive entrance hall with magical glass themed sculpture/chandelier which was mesmerising, and an impressive Miro wall tile mural.

I loved my whole trip through Basque country. It was full of surprises and this was one of them. Whilst I did enjoy the Guggenheim, the exhibition was a let down, I asked some locals and they advised me to visit the Artium. I wasn't sure as I thought the famous Guggenheim must have been the best museum there, but... More
