Most dramatic cliffs in Fuerteventura

Just a quick drive after El Cotillo beach on a corrugated offroad path, this infamous beach, took my breath away. Rugged cliffs, wild beach and a jaw dropping steep path felt like going down to paradise. Stay for sunset and you might be lucky enough to have the beach all by yourself. There is no real signs for Escalera, so watch out for other cars parked near the cliffs.

A Mazing

Wow what a place, after a 10 minute drive down a rough off road track, you reach the car park.
Then you walk to the edge & see about half a mile of golden sand, a 100 or so feet below you down a sheer drop rugged cliff.

The steps down are dangerous. Warning signs top & bottom. No gaurdrails just sheer drop off the edge.1 section of concrete steps is supported by timber, just. But if your careful you make to the bottom in 1 piece & stroll along a Stunning beach with great waves.

If your prudish don't come here as there are nudist on the beach.

Well worth hunting out this beach before the steps collapse.

With better steps it's 5 stars all the way.

Provided you don't suffer from vertigo this is a beautiful wonderful secluded beach to visit.

Better to drive a 4x4 to drive the 3? Km out of el Cotillo. Then park well away from the edge of the cliff, before tackling the worst set of concrete steps you have ever seen. Not for the faint hearted or anyone with mobility issues or fear of heights.

However, once down on the beach it is more than worth it. Get there early and at low tide to enjoy a pristine empty beautiful beach. Even at its busiest you can have a large area to yourself.

Anything goes, beach is very popular with naturists (especially this one). Wal the length of the beach with your toes in the gentle lapping waves, while breakers pound loudly a bit further out.

Swim at your own risk, best to stay in the shallows or the Atlantic will break you into small pieces.

Stunning beach

This is a beautiful beach and clothing optional. Clean sand washed by the tide and sheltered from the wind by the cliffs. Strong waves and currents. Big climb on steps to get on and off the beach. Fabulous location

Superb beach - clothes not obligatory

This is a fabulous, remote beach with lots of golden sand when the tide is out, half way between the main El Cotillo beach and the ravine beach at Playa Esquizno. What makes this special is that it is one of the few beaches beneath the towering black cliffs that you can get down as there is a set of concrete steps down to the beach. It is so wonderful and so secluded, generally – why would you want to go into the water with clothes on?

You can either drive out to it or take the well marked and cleared coastal path from the end of El Cotillo beach. You can walk it in 30 to 40 minutes
