We were recommended to visit La Gomera by a friend who stayed in Playa de Santiago when he visited in January. He warned us that there was just one supermarket and one restaurant. Now in April the resort has sprung to life with plenty of restaurants and cafes. We overlook the sea in our hotel, Pension La Gaviota, and hear... More

Lots of places to walk to and view the sunsets. Some steps and hills but most have ramps for prams, buggies etc. Lovely to walk in the evenings after a fun day.

What a place to stay, lots of choice for places to eat, and all serving great food. Fantastic little working harbour that will possibly soon have a ferry service from San Sebastian. Don't miss lunch at a very bohemian little bar on the beach

I'm glad we lived a bit outside Los Gigantes, and this was the perfect place for a family holiday with no extra fuzz. The restaurants and shops were small and cosy and everyone was very friendly. This is the place I'll return to evertime visiting Tenerife.

Highlights were: a day trip with Yani whale watching - we saw dolphins AND whales; a day out with Juan from Gomera En Moto (along the sea front) who organised a personalised tour of the island for us; a massage with Ananda (near the Art Gallery), a walk over the headlands to a nearby beach (very hot! And it turned... More

We visited Playa Santiago while staying at San Sebastián in La Gomera. The journey by car took about 40 minutes. Roads are good with space for 2 cars to pass but the route is up and down the mountain side and twists and turns with several hairpin bends. Playa Santiago is a lovely fishing village/town with several restaurants along the... More

We were staying at the Hotel Jardin Tecina, on the headland above Playa de Santiago and walked there most days for coffee and cake or a light lunch. Loads of good cafes and a really wonderful bakery. There is also a fantastic Art Gallery and very good value rentals for scooters and cars. Everyone is very friendly and we noticed... More
