The area was pleasant with lots of cafes and bars the ship seemed a little out of place at the end of the plaza, but those who visited it said that it was enjoyable. Cross, over the road and go,up,the hill to the small 'folly' fort and admire the views over the Bay.

If you want to know how it was on the original Santa Maria you'll get disappointed, but if you like ships in general you might like it.

We liked walking around here. We arrived on the cruise ship queen Victoria and were only here for a day. It was good.

The back streets are very pretty and worth a visit, You should get there early as the shops close for siesta. Lots of little bars and restaurants to experience traditional Spanish paella at reasonable prices.

We walked an hour from our hotel along the coast to Santa Cruz. There is no seafront to speak of, it is more akin to a building site and very ugly. The main avenue with all the shops is interesting and worth stopping at a cafe for a rest. It was worth a visit but I doubt we will return.

Little town and can walk it in an hour but nothing else to do for the remaining three hours! Less than 5 impressive balconies, shops all the same. I would not have wasted half a day if I knew what is going to be like. Do the north tour instead as Santa Cruz has nothing to offer.

Booked onto a trip to Santa Cruz. Walked around the town in next to no time. Had a look in the church - very nice apart from the beggar at the front door. Had 4 hrs to kill so had a beer and a sandwich. Had to wait ages for the bill so was on the last minute for the... More

There are some beautiful areas of the port of Santa Cruz de la Palma, and some very untidy building sites - a work in progress. We were last here about five years ago and we have noticed a lot of changes and improvements especially to the cruise port and harbour area. There are a lot of new buildings, the road... More

On our visit to La Palma, we took in a trip to this charming place, the capital of La Palma island. Through cobbled streets taking in a beatiful gothic church, bars, restuarants, very varied little shops all breaming with good value goods from take home local wines and honeys to lace to the volcanic rock necklaces and so on, finishing...
