Magnificent home and gardens open to public (museum, bar and restaurant). Built for Omar Sharif by Jesus Soto and influenced by Cesar Manrique (responsible for almost every architectural tourist attraction on Lanzarote). One of Lanzarote's top 10 I reckon.

We have visited Lanzarote several times but this was our first visit to this quiet, tranquil location. No crowds. We have visited many of the Ceasar Manrique venues and although this was a collaboration and advisory role his influence can be clearly seen. Yes, as others have pointed out - it is not perfect but it is spectacular and enchanting.

About 6 euro to get in, you just wander around the house and gardens, it truly is wonderful, all the rooms built into the mountain, you can just imagine how they used to enjoy and party. Well worth a visit.

We first visited this place in 2003, long before it was a museum, and having revisited last week I can honestly say that the breathtaking, natural and somewhat surreal surroundings of 'lagomar' was worth returning to. We had lunch here and the food was outstanding, the staff were fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. When I return... More

Beautiful place but a bit tatty and need of refreshing. Bit pricey given what it is really and not a patch on Fundacion Manrique.

Decided to end our night having some drinks there! OMG what a beautiful place! Loads of hidden spots, good drinks and not expensive at all. The location is mesmerizing, they architecture blends in perfectly with the cave and the mountain. We didn't get to eat, which we now regret. I reckon the best time tone there is around the sunset... Really lovely, quiet place to have a drink or some food. You can walk around, they have music in the evenings, and Omar Shariff's house is great!

We couldn't find any trips to LagOmar so had to get a taxi, from Costa Teguise about €15 each way. But we thought it worth it. Absolutely stunning, tranquil, carved into the side of a volcano, just visit! Not a huge place but only about €6 and you can stay as long as you want. There's a restaurant too, but... More

A coach trip took us to this architect's indulgence. Lovely to explore, but steep so inaccessible to anyone who can't do stairs. We were fine, though had to keep moving along as popular. A novelty as somewhere to stay, it may have been dangerous to be anything other than sober, carved into the rock as it was. Nostalgia abounds for... More

This is a fantastic surreal home built into the side of a hill using the natural materials and formations of the rocky hillside. It was aledgedly bought by Omar Sherief but he lost it almost immediately in a game of bridge and is now a museum. As you walk through this fantastical place new vista's open up un-expectedly before you.... More
