Great surfing beach but not for swimmers, surfers only as the red flag flies more often than not. Hire boards in village or a shop on the estate.

The best surfing beach to learn and improve before you try more difficult places. Lots of places to rent boards, get tuition and places to eat.

From a couple of miles down the road to Famara, one can already catch a glimpse of that ominous, sheer cliff face. Striking. The road, by the way, on which you should travel is the LZ-402, which means turning off before Teguise, if coming from...More

We visited this beach on a very windy day but did manage to find some shelter so we could enjoy the January sunshine. It is a very pretty sandy beach in a nice village. Lots of parasailing, etc going on, and a nice place for...More

The water is dangerous for swimmers hence it is a great surfers beach. The cliffs are awesome and majestic. It is worth going just to see them and then move on. No toilets is a downside.

See title. It was very windy on the day we were there (which appears common based on all the dunes) but still very impressive, with a long sweeping beach dominated by cliffs on one side.

The cliffs tower above this fine surfing beach. Great for a walk in the stiff breeze admiring the surfers' skill - not perhaps the place for a swim.

I recommend the walk as outlined in the attached picture: arriving at the beach take the road left besides the bungalow park, go right at the end of the road following the backside of the bungalow park , and follow the dirtroad on the side...More

When you are in Lanzarote, it is worth visiting the Famara beach: wild and windy beaches with waves and a lot of surfers...

Suggested walk. Arriving at the coast turn right towards the bungalow urbanisation. Hug the perimeter so that the development is on your left. At the end of the development turn left and park. Walk along the back of the bungalow development and keep going. Head...More

It is VERY remote and you would probably be better hiring a cheap car for a couple of days then at least you can explore the rest of the North of the island.
