While staying at La Santa Club, we drove the 15 minutes to Famara Beach for a morning walk. The beach is long and sandy, with rounded volcanic rocks higher on shore. A nice contrast to the cliffs/mountains that rise behind the beach. According to all the surf schools in the village, this seems to be the place to go, if... More

Loved the beach. I was in there doing a surf course (with Lanzasurf, I've just left them a review, they're great!!). Really nice beach, a bit outside of the main beaches so relatively quiet.

This beach was recommended as being the island's best beach and it's definitely worth a visit. It is not advised to swim there most of the time as there are strong currents etc and when we visited is was VERY windy but surfers, kite surfers etc use this amazing beach with its wonderful backdrop of cliffs. The village is small... More

Famara has a stretch of beach that is frequented by surfers and kite surfers as it has consistent swell. It's clean and safe, with a lifeguard box. The weather is pretty good year round, but it gets windy! Remember to put that sun cream on, as the wind will stop you from realising that you're being burned! Such a great... More

Stunning beach with breathtaking backdrop of mountains / volcanos. I spent 3 days just enjoying it while my son learnt to surf with Kaboti Surf School. A few nice little restaurants /cafes around a mile and a half walk from the centre of the beach.

not the best beach in Lanzarote, especially if it's windy, and probably most of the time it is, and you will be covered in sand (there are some sand dunes near by), but I wouldn't miss it. great waves, nice looking cliffs, I miss it already :)

amazing view going down the road to Famara beach, with the little island of La Graciosa emerging from the foamy waves like a mirage....

One of the best beaches on the island. But not for swimmers due to the strong currents. Popular among surfers. Enjoyed walking the long sandy beach back and forth and eventually, when it got too windy, lying down in one of the little stone-circled "nests" built by previous sun bathers.
