A must see in Tenerife. There are 3 hiking trails on top of the volcano. Definitely go to the very top of volcano, that needs a permission, good walking shoes and a good physique. Plan 1,5h for the trip up and down again. The other 2 trails are beautiful too, but doing all 3 of them is very ambitious. Amazing... More

It's quite a drive up there. Views are stunning but there's people everywhere. The cabelcars were not working so we wandered around. Worth a visit if you're on Tenerife.

The trip to the caldera of the Teide volcano was by an organised tour group. From Puerto de la Cruz can be made much cheaper by way of the excellent bus system on Tenerife. Anyone who wishes to visit the area around the base of the cone would be advised to travel by the bus company Titsa. Daily from the... More

Amazing landscape, a must see in Tenerife, if you have the trekking skills try to hike from Montana Blanca to the top, but the most simple way is to go by cable car (more pratical, less time consuming and also effortless). If you want to reach the summit, you will need to have a permission from Tenerife Authorities, this can... More

The scenery around this area is amazing. The colours are all different every where you look. The shapes that have been made by the eruption are something to see.

A must do trip if visiting Tenerife. Caught a bus from Puerto de la Cruz to Teide. A very scenic bus ride. Was a lovely sunny warm day and views were spectacular. Be warned, there's snow at the top so something more than shorts and T shirt recommended. The cafe at the base of the volcano serves drinks and snacks... More

We did the half day trip from our hotel, which was fine as a first look because we had nothing to think about but the views. We used the bus drive to get there as an opportunity to check out bits of the island we hadn't seen. We also booked the cable car. It was a bit frantic when we... More

Blue skies and high altitude meant a strange mix of sun and cool so be prepared when you visit but this is a fascinating area and plenty of walks and interesting views - really amazing and even more so when we descended to Santa Cruz as we went through cloud and found things dull below.
