You must not visit Tenerife without visiting the capital and this lovely market. Known as 'la recova', it was opened in 1944, and built at the same time as the bridge you cross to get there. In front of the market is a sculpture of...More

Forget the fresh produce, bakeries, jewellery stalls and cafe-bars. What you REALLY want is to seek out the spice shop that sells incense guaranteed to ward off sexual jealousy or hasten a proposal of marriage!

Big market where you can find everything. Local fruits, spices, teas and flowers in a great selection. A lot of other southern fruits, flesh, fish ... Excellent and clean

There you can find nice fruits and veggies, herbs, tea houses, organic shops, home made ice cream/desserts and some artisans with their art. It's definitely worth the visit. Usually, every Sunday until 3 p.m. there is a big flea market on the streets surrounding. Recommend...More

Loads of unusual items for presents to take home. And an opportunity to have a sit down, a cool drink and people watch.

This market has it all. I highly recommend spending a day or two here visiting the stands. Just make sure you go before 2 pm because it closes by then.

Fresh fish, flowers, teas, oils etc. An interesting market to stroll around and lovely if you are self catering. Very busy with locals. Surrounding area full of people selling absolute junk though.

Santa Cruz is the other side of the island from Puerto de la Cruz, so you would need to go by car or by bus. At least an hour's travel but suggest you check a map and bus timetable (horario).
