I was here for a conference and I'm truly grateful to the organisers for having it here. This is such a grand venue for any function. It's well-preserved with modern facilities on the inside. I got to have a look at the royal audience rooms as well as the meeting rooms. There's also free wi-fi throughout most of the rooms.... More

Nice place to take a walk, nice gardens with good view of the sea. The bar/cafe in the old stables was very pore though.

The palace is easily accessible from the main walkway which follows the coastline and the numerous beaches in santander, there is a small train which can take you through the park to the palace, once there the views of the city and its surrounding islands is great, the grounds are very well maintained, well worth a look!!!

There is free parking near to the entrance. The grounds surrounding the Palacio are very nice with grass, trees, birds and lovely views across the bay and the channel that the ferry takes when entering the port. There are a couple of places inside the grounds near the entrance where you can get a coffee and snack.

The beautiful land the Palace was on was a lovely walk and the Palace itself was quite beautiful (and a definite must for those who are fans of the t.v show Grande Hotel which uses the outside as a set) unfortunately we couldn't go in as it is only open on weekends.

In the peninsula of Magdalena is a castle also with that name where the kings lived, not the current ones. It isn't as large as it seems in pictures and there were quite a few tourists, we didn't pay to go in but it's nice for a few pictures and specially the peninsula and grounds around the castle.

I spent one morning visiting the Penisula de la Magdalena, where you can see the Castle which has an amazing view from the top, and before you arrive there, along the way, you can see the Mini Zoo, three galleons of the Cantabria mariner and also lovely beaches. If you are in Santander you definitely should go there. I loved... More

Having watched the show Gran Hotel, which was filmed here, I was dying to see this palacio. It's absolutely stunning with beautiful grounds and amazing views. The tours of the interior are only offered at certain times and only in Spanish. In my opinion, the exterior is the real draw, and I would not make a huge effort for the... More

A lovely place to walk up to if you're feeling reasonably energetic. The views as you're walking up to the palace are truly stupendous, looking out over the sea. Nowhere to eat or drink when you arrive at the top, they're missing a trick here. On the way up (or down) you can take in the little 'zoo' which has... More
