You can easily spend one or more days wandering around the peninsula of La Magdalena for free - amazing views, lovely beaches, mini aquatic zoo, parkland and the best picnic spots in Santander. So the tour of the palace (in Spanish only) is an optional...More

Someone has forgot to tell the staff here that RyanAir now fly numerous flights to Santander from the UK and no doubt, other nations too... but all communications are purely in Spanish... so if you can't speak it fluently, you'll get little from this. You...More

The Palace is on the highest point of Magdalena peninsula - built as a summer residence for King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenie, where they vacationed every July and during their stay the city became Spains political capital. Currently the building is a museum,...More

A beautiful place to visit, next to the beach, lovely gardens, great walks. Watch out for the processional caterpillars, can be deadly to digs and dangerous to children.

We and our friends walked around this beautiful castle. Very good location, just near the sea, beautiful park, nice to walk with children. Nearby place with penguins and seals. We have had enjoyable time there even the weather was not great at that day.

Palace and setting are fantastic. Unfortunately guided tour is only in Spanish so even though I can speak a bit I failed to understand much of what guide said.

This is a must! Beautiful palace with a great history. There is a tour guide with your visit. Priceless views. If you saw the novela “Gran Hotel” where love conquered all, you will be in a fairytale while visiting this palace. Absolutely beautiful!

We would rate it higher if we it was easily accessible, there are severe restrictions on visiting times. Yes, its great at admiring it from the outside but that does tell you the full story of the palace nor the potential treasures that contains.
