Lovely beach area easily reached from town by bus. Some bars and cafes, but not overly commercial. Excellent promenade/walkway.

Beautiful, wide beach just across the street from many restaurants and bars. Beautiful walking trails overlooking the beach. Only downsides are that it can get very crowded during the summer months and could use a few more bars and restaurants right on the beach so that one does not have to leave the beach area in order to get a... The title says it all! On a beautiful day you have the choice of lazing around on the beach, paddling, swimming, or doing what we did, walking along the cliff top paths towards Fargo lighthouse.

This is one of the main beaches in Santander, popular with tourists and locals. A very large beach, with fine white sand, kept very clean. Great view of the Isla the Mouro, Peninsula de la Magdalena and the Cabo Mayor with the lighthouse. A lot of bars and restaurants nearby, even a nightclub.

What a pleasant surprise. We spent two days in Santander waiting to catch the ferry back to the UK. The beach is very big and clean. We walked the length of the beach at midnight and felt totally safe. We even came across a mad jogger! The only downside is the complete lack of public toilets anywhere near the beach.

If you're ever in Santander with a couple of spare hours, this is a lovely experience. Fantastic cliff top walks and beaches. If you're there, go visit - you won't be disappointed (but parking can be a bit tricky if you don't get there promptly).

This beach is at the top end of the walk from Santander Harbour and is well worth the hour that it can take. There is a lovely restaurant at the far end which I recommend, El Parque de Trueba. Enjoy lunch there before walking back along the promenade.

We really enjoyed this beach and walked up and down basking in the sun and having fun. The water is a bit cold but clean and public toilets are available very clean at a fee. A must while in Santander.

We came to santander in August so the beach was busy but it is so big it doesn't feel crowded, a nice place to sit and people watch or go for a swim. There are some good waves of you like bodyboarding. An ideal family beach as the water doesn't get deep to quickly. The promenade is ideal for strolling... More
