We enjoyed immensely our visit to this museum. It is housed in a restored medieval house very near the spot where El Greco actually lived. In the beginning we watched an informative video about his life and work and then toured the Museum which includes restored rooms giving a vivid picture of life in Toledo in the 16th century as... A great insight into how El Greco lived and the master he was.A good display of his paintings and those of his pupils. Don't miss the stunningly recrafted kitchen!

The museum is a group of connected houses holding paintings of El Greco. The diverse artist lived in this city and painted. The tour begins with the kitchen and an audio-conference. When you proceed you learn the painters early works and end up with some of his master works. 3 Euro per person is the entrance fee that is quite... More

The apostles are displayed well but the museum itself was kind of disappointing to me. I guess I was expecting more.

An interesting recreated villa much like the one that El Greco may have lived in, displaying his art and some from his studio. Does not take more than an hour to tour and there are many nice paintings. Crowds were non existent. Museum is built on top of some excavations which are also on view.

Probably not his house - but still interesting. Nice pictures on display in the gallery section Well worth the small entry fee (can be combined as a joint ticket with the Sephardic Museum).

Although it didn't have as many El Greco's paintings as one would think, it was a lovely experience to visit such a nice place! The furniture and decoration of the house was amazing and pretty accurate. There are signs in English that explain everything and give you all the info you need to know about the artist, his life and... More

Our takeaway impression of this museum was that the founder really liked El Greco and was determined to to have a museum dedicated to him even though he had very little actual El Greco material. It's something to do while you're in town, but don't make it a priority.

The main draw here are the works of El Greco, and there are quite a few to see. But the museum itself consists of a structure and a garden containing the legacy and collection of an art collector who was instrumental in the revival of El Greco's reputation. (As a music historian and prof, it was, to me, evidence yet... More

This is a lovely museum containing many El Greco Paintings that I was unfamiliar with. The garden is beautiful.
