Well presented with a metallic path that takes you around the castle. The place was destroyed by the french so it was restored and well presented. You have a nice view over the city and the walk from the cathedral is nice and short. The...More

We went up to the castle in the afternoon and had a peaceful walk through the walking trails surrounding the castle. On arriving at the castle, we found it was closed, even though the opening hours on the door said it should be open. There...More

The castle was closed when we were in Burgos, but I was totally unimpressed with the exterior and castle walls. Most of the castle was destroyed centuries ago. What's left are low walls with no towers or turrets. There are plenty of nicer castles within...More

Visited this site with friends and saw simulated sword fights. Fun and interesting with a good commentary/explanation by the guide. Thunder and lightning during the visit provided an interesting backdrop. The historical exhibition is nicely laid out too and the views of the city and...More

Next to the castillo, is mirador de burgos where you can see the city of Burgos from above. There is a restaurant up there with good food and drinks, and a park on the other side.

You can enjoy It but if you lack a bit of time... There are other alternativas like Cathedral, Huelgas ... That are more impressive. Castle is half ruined and you need a bit of imagination to get the full-picture

If the Well tour isn't running (it wasn't and we didn't find out till after we paid and went in) there isn't much there. The "museum" has many glass cases, 3/4 of which are completely empty. You can look at a few bits of wall,...More

As a retired person the entry is great value. There are great views from the battlements though there isn't a lot of the castle left after being blown up in the past. The underground visit is interesting (and cool when hot outside). You go down...More

The remains of the castle is on a hill overlooking the city. It is a bit of a hike up there on a hot day but good views over the city. Not an enormous amount of the castle left other than the walls as the...More
