No glitzy displays here, just cases and cases of cool stuff, all from digs around Burgos. Emphasis was on prehistory and the Roman period.

we weren't aware of this museum, but our admission to the cathedral included admission here, so we went. a really interesting collection of archeological finds, through the history of the land of the province and the city.

The Burgos Museum occupies 3 noble houses and features sections of prehistory, archaeology, and fine arts. The alabaster tomb of Don Juan de Padilla is a masterpiece created by Gil de Siloe.

What a pity that this collection of historic artifacts has no English explanations. It misses a good opportunity to educate non Spanish speaking visitors about the history of this area. Also half the museum is art...not history.

really 2 separate museums in a beautiful historic building. The archaeological exhibits cover to the first Europeans discovered near Burgos. The art museum includes religious and secular art. Both very interesting but no English descriptions.

I came here specifically to see El Cid's sword Tizona , its in the back room on the ground floor. The rest of the museum is quite good for a regional museum. The staff are very nice and helpful. The city itself is quite lovely.

The museum is worth a visit. Set in a renaissance palace, it's collection is made up exclusively of things from the region, from prehistory to the present. It's not too big and overwhelming.

A lovely building that had different items. This museum was not big but the building in itself was lovely enough. Definitely worth seeing.
