We started in the basement, and were advised to sit and listen in a room full of monoliths. As we did, we were presented with the idea of life as a passage of time, with only those markers to signify our having been there. Well done! We moved on through exhibits of coinage, excavation, art, etc. We did not give... More

I'm a retired history museum professional. This museum is one of the best I've seen. Provides an interesting, lively, presentation of regional history in a simple way without simplifying a complex history. Beautifully illustrated by a great artifact collection. Covers pre-history to present. If coin exhibit still n lower level, don't miss it explains the evolution of money more engaging... More

At only one Euro it is worth paying this museum a visit. It charts the history of León and the surrounding area through the ages by means of interesting exhibits and information boards in English and Spanish. If you are only going for the city view you may be disappointed as it is only 3 floors up and the view... More

Currently there is a small exhibit with Picasso and contemporaries that is worth seeing. The other floors focus on early Roman ruins and includes a very interesting exhibit of the medieval period. Takes a little over an hour and very worthwhile.

Was walking around Leon and made a brief stop at Museo de Leon, admission for free. Worth doing it when you are in Leon.

Was a great experience, got to view how stones were used back in the days. Great collection of roman artifacts.

We visited local museums in a number of cities including Leon and Oviedo. While the amount of information presented was limited, most of it was also in English. There were exhibits covering the Camino as well as other aspects of local history. The history was from both political and scientific perspectives. I sometimes wonder whether the tourist board or department... More

Leon, since its Roman days, has held the pieces to much of mdoern Spain and its influences. The Museo de Leon can help you put those pieces together and better understand the pride you feel whilst walking the Calle Ancha and other parts of this city!

We visitted the museum on a Sunday when the entrance is free. The building is quite large and has several stories with exhibits from a long period. The higher you get the more modern it gets. Besides there was a temporary exhibition with the history of Spanish coins. The museum is filled with examples of what can be found after... More
