A fascinating place. Lots of information has been archived for this very sad event. It was very interesting to read so much.

As others have noted, this archive could use more signage and an audio tour in English. But at least it is a start. Spain is so intent on not remembering the atrocious events of the Spanish Civil war (on both sides) that it was refreshing...More

The museum gave me a pretty good introduction regarding the Spanish Civil War which I knew pretty much nothing about. While it is definitely more useful to all visitors who speak Spanish fluently and know a little bit about this place, even a non-spanish speaker...More

This is not a museum as one might expect but a selection of Spanish Civil War documents from the building's official government archives. These cover specific aspects of the war such as propaganda, official orders, identity cards, refugee dispersals and internment. It also contains an...More

In one of the cities Francism was first introduced it is below an accetable level of any studies. O.K. some pieces are shown. Mostly a comparison between Francism and Republicans by showcasas. But is it that? This country still can do a lot to analyse...More

The good part is that it is free, and the temperature is comfortable. But aside from a poorly written 2-page English introduction, everything is in Spanish. One sees some historic propaganda posters, some pictures whose significance i could mostly not make out. A film in...More

Came across this by (happy) accident. The museum is the public face of an active research archive. While only limited information is available in English, it provides a fascinating insight into a dark period of Spanish (and European) history. The display on Masonry is colourful,...More

Despite everything being in Spanish we did enjoy the history and especially the Masonic meeting room and the film. There was an english print sheet to help.

A small exhibition of memorabilia and photographs from the Spanish Civil War. The museum also contains a Freemasons Lodge in all its mystery and glory. More work needs to be done for English speaking visitors. Well worth a visit. Entrance Free.

Very disappointing museum. I expected a museum covering the entire Spanish Civil War, from its build-up through the aftermath. Salamanca was after all the capitol for Franco's forces. All there was is an odd historic collection about the Masons who were persecuted someplace along the...More
