We have booked a room in the museum complex which was the old mint on the banks of the river, below the Alcazar & next to the Monastery. The checkin process was a little difficult due to lack of signage and language however all sorted & the accommodation is a very comfortable bedroom with ensuite, and access to a large... More

A beautifully restored gem of industrial history. Great exhibition with good videos and audio guide. Wish I had allowed more time - you need 1 1/2 at least. Aqueduct interpretation centre is included and is excellent.

Had a lovely walk down from the old town and the Royal Mint has been beautifully restored. The museum was excellent and the exhibits well laid out. Helpful having the audio phones. Also enjoyed the display on the Aquaduct.

The buildings of the museum occupy a beautiful spot on the river, which is why the mint was established there some centuries ago. The renovation of the mint has included the water-wheels that originally ran the machines that made the coins. The museum is spacious and pleasant to visit, with friendly staff. The staff provides a game for young people... More

This is what I would consider a sort of "specialty" museum. The buildings are lovely and well-maintained. The display of coin-minting machinery is impressive and the location along the river is beautiful. If this is an area of interest for you, you should check it out. Also included in the admission is a small but very informative aqueduct interpretive center.

On our last day we decided to visit this museum, I only wish I used the time to go elsewhere. I love museums but this isn't one in my opinion. The building has history for what it is and probably doesn't deserve to disappear in ruin so when it was renovated they turned it into a museum about how they... More

We spotted these buildings from the heights of the Alcazar yesterday so headed down there on foot along a leafy pathway today. Only a few visitors and were we warmly welcomed by the staff. The restored buildings were the Royal Mint of Spain and we got an overview of Spain's history and how coins were made there. Well explained by... More

Went there specifically for the exhibition / information about the aqueduct. Checked opening times in advance - 10 until 6 on Sundays. Arrived at 4.45pm on a Sunday and no signs of life. Found the entrance, and the sign outside said open 10 until 6 on Sundays too !!! Very disappointing. It was a very rainy day and, being out... More

Dear soul_man_dave, We are very desolate about your bad experience when you arrived to our Museum. We think there was a problem with the opening times and we apoligized for the inconveniences. We just hope the next time you return to Segovia, could have the time to visit us and of course, the entrance will be free. Yours faithfully, More

We spent over an hour at the mint museum. It explained the production of money over many centuries. It was quite informative. If you are retired you get in for 2 euros which includes an audio guide. We preferred to just read the English signs since the audio guides were rather long winded. You can also visit a small museum... More

We came across this tourist mill by chance. We had a great visit with the English phone guide which was only 3 euros. It was a really interesting tour and we had no idea this Royal Mint was the main one before it relocated to Madrid. A must see tour!!
