I have been to La Granja many times, and I never tire of it and always find some new enchanting garden detail or design idea.

Palace used to be king's palace. Beautiful tapestry. Don't miss pantheon of Spanish kings. Take a tour.

This summer residence of Felipe V is lovely especially when the fountains are turned on, usually on Sunday mornings. The palace is also a nice tour. The two sequoia next to the chapel are awesome.

The Palacio was a much reduced grand palace of the Versailles variety. The gardens and fountains (only turned on in July) are the more interesting part of the small town for us. We enjoyed the off the beaten path town most of all.

Wasn't sure how easy it would be to get here - no car and staying in Segovia - but the bus cost a paltry 1.40 Euros and the drivers very helpful. Booked an English guided tour and this was well worth it - only two...More

Parking is a bit of a challenge in the area and if you have seen palaces in Europe this is pretty but small. However, with the gardens and if you take time to explore the town, you have a full day's outing to enjoy.

The whole atmosphere in the park is magic it is also well preserved and totally free. Went there one a sunny day of autumn. Check the sequoias all around you. They might be 300 years old!
