The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona.

Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste.

A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

We had a wonderful tour with Lorea on the Gotica tour. Lorea gave us a great sense of the history and culture of Barcelona, as well as introducing us to the fabulous food!! We were a small group of 5, which made for a very pleasant and relaxed evening. We subsequently went back to some of the tapas bars and... More

I highly recommend The Barcelona Taste and our guide, Tito. We did the Gótico tour our first evening in Barcelona and it was the smartest move ever. You get a first hand experience of the culture, the food, and the city so you get a broad picture of the lay of the land. The other two couples who joined us... More

We took the Poble Sec tour on our first evening in Barcelona, before we met up with a tour group the following day. Barcelona Taste was the perfect introduction to the city & especially to the Barcelona food scene & Spanish food traditions. Our guide, Lorea, walked us up part of Montjuic for a view of the city. The tour... More

We joined Jo on a tour of tapas bars in the increasingly Poble Sec district of Barcelona. Neither of us had done these guided tours before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Six of us were met by Jo and she proceeded to take us to three Tapas bars, two for savoury and one for desert. I wont say... More

This was our second Barcelona Taste food tour. This time we did the Poble Sec tour. Jo took us to three amazing restaurants with great food, wine and Vermut. My friend and I joined three other folks for a tasting tour of Poble Sec. Ramiro took us on a tour of three local restaurants in the quaint streets of Poble Sec. We started at La Tieta with an amazing homemade vermouth and amazing tapas. Then La Platilleria another great rounds of tapas including patatas bravas and calamari. The last... More

This tour was a lot of fun, yet we learned too! Amazing choice of tapas, great company, great drinks. She was very generous with her offerings and always made sure we were happy. I have been recommending this tour to all my travelling friends.

If you are looking for a small group tasting tour this is it. Anna took us to a great variety of places with excellent choices in tapas. She made the evening enjoyable and informative at the same time and followed up with an email about all of the suggestions we had asked for. A wonderful evening well spent!

In Spain it's tapas tapas and more tapas... but where to go and what to order is the question. This tour was so good and so delicious. Anna, our lovely guide made it easy by choosing where to go and what to order. The food was great, the atmosphere charming. We loved it! We have experienced a few Tapas tours... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
