This fresh food market was 100 metres from where I was staying. I'm an early riser (especially by Spanish standards!) and found this was a great spot to have my morning cortado and bocadillo con Jamon y questo as the market opens at 7:30am. Bar...More

We always visit the market when in Barca, in particular Bar Joan for a bikini breakfast (ham & cheese toastie) and the best cafe con leche in the city. It's fun to watch the world go by and the very talented fish stall employees who...More

This is a nice, clean market with a good selection of meat, fish, fruits and local food. I bought a paella pan, paella seasoning and some rice to take home and try my hand at making paella. We had brunch at the corner restaurant called...More

We went to La Boqueria first and it was insanely crowded. Then we came here and could easily stroll through. We had a delicious lunch at one of the restaurants there.

Wonderful selection of produce. If you like cooking you will LOVE this market. We visited twice, on weekdays. When compared to what you find in a basic British market or Spanish supermarket, there was an abundance of really fresh fruit, fish, vegetables including Romanesco cauliflower,...More

Compared to bigger markets around Barcelona, this one is less crowded and cleaner. Fewer tourists make this a much more local spot where people, including myself this visit, are actually shopping, and not just here to see the market. Good local produce and nice spread...More

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

5 minutes walk. You will see the colourful roof of the market in distance from the square in front of the catedral.
