We had a great 3 hour tour. Great guide, difficult circumstances being very busy and very angry and nasty locals. Highly recommended to do at the start of your visit to Barca, to get a feel for the place.

I took a Baja Bikes tour in Edinburgh, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I live in Edinburgh and I reckon I know the city pretty well. But I decided to take the tour anyway, partly out of curiosity and partly because, however well you know a place, there is always something new to discover. I wasn't disappointed. Our guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable about the city – and extremely good at sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. He showed us parts of the town which most visitors probably wouldn't find on their own, giving us lots of fascinating insights along the way. I opted to pay a little extra for an e-bike. This helped with tackling the few hills along the route. But it was by no means essential. Apart from one particularly steep climb on the approach to Arthur's Seat, the route was not particularly challenging, and would be within the capabilities of any moderately-fit person on any kind of bike. And there were plenty of stops for us to catch our breath, take photos and admire the views. The tour lasted three hours, with a lunch stop in the historic Duddingston "village" in the heart of Holyrood Park. Most of the group headed for the Sheep Heid Inn, a famous pub which claims to be the oldest in Edinburgh. I opted for a sandwich in the delightful Dr Neil's Garden, an island of tranquillity overlooking the Duddingston Nature Reserve. This was my first experience of Baja Bikes, and I was impressed with what I saw. The whole thing was well-organised, the bikes were in good condition, and everything was ready for us at the meeting point. There was a couple in our group who appeared to be great fans of Baja, having taken their tours in Berlin, Rome, London and New York. Based on what I saw of the Edinburgh tour, I can see why. I would be happy to recommend it for anyone who wants an "active" way of seeing a city, and certainly better than simply being taken around in a tour bus.…
