I saved this cooking class for the last day of my vacation in the city. First, our chef Candido took us to La Boqueria market where we got the ingredients and found out plenty of information about the marketplace, different ingredients and the catalan cuisine. We also got a taste of jamon iberico. The we went back to the kitchen... More

We started our day visiting La Boqueria Market, where Chef Lalo took good care of us, explaining about the market history, particularities of the products and vendors. We got the ingredients needed for our cooking class and headed back to the school, where Chef Lalo led us to prepare 4 dishes: A pumpkin soup, Tortilla and Pan con Tomate, Paella... More

Candido was a welcoming and knowledgeable chef who taught us how to produce an absolutely delicious meal with fresh ingredients. It was a relaxed evening and I would definitely recommend this course if you are looking to learn authentic Spanish cooking. Thank you!

Brilliant course, we had Chef Candido who was excellent. Despite a range of (odd) allergies he was able to construct a fabulous menu and throughout the day was unfazed, knowledgeable and a good laugh. We first went out to the market, and then back into the kitchen. Candido brought us through the process very carefully and with no confusion and... More

Myself and my partner took part in this lovely course with the market visit. The tour around the market was fun and informative. The cooking lesson was also great due to just 3 of us in the group we were all able to get stuck in on the prep and cooking of the 4 dishes. This was our first time... More

We did the class with Chef Lalo. We really enjoyed going to the Boqueria and seeing him interact with the vendors. We had a lively group with eight adults and four teenage boys, and we all got on very well and had a lot of fun. They accommodated some food issues for the group, and we had a fantastic lunch.... Can't say enough good about this class. It was so good that it finally spurred me on to write my first review of somewhere from my travels. My girlfriend and I decided to take a cooking class while in Barcelona and on the back of reading the TripAdvisor reviews we chose to attend the Tapas cooking class with Barcelona Cooking.... More

I did the cooking class on 23 December. Chef Lalo took us through the Boqueria market first and along the way gave us a bit of history. In the market he gave a tour of the market at the same time as buying all the ingredients for our cooking class. Back at the cooking class we helped make a delicious... More

Our class, led by Stefano, was well worth our time! The class is suitable for people with very little cooking skill, as well as those with more experience who are looking for an authentic introduction to Catalan cuisine. Stefano was friendly, patient, very good at adapting to our different skill levels, and very informative. One of the best parts of... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
