We visited the Placa during a guided walk around the medieval and roman quarter of Barcelona and the damage caused by a bomb in the square was a vivid reminder of a violent episode in Barcelona's history. There is more to see, though, so look around you at the other buildings as the church with its bullet holes.

a small quiet " oase" in the heart of Barcelona. Just enjoy the calm atmosphere and realize why Gaudi came here so often..

This little Square holds the entrance to the Church of St Philip Neri, an Italian priest (1515-1595) who founded the Oratorians (Congregation of the Oratory). You can read about him if you're interested, but what makes this church special is the battle-scarred front wall of the church itself. It used to be said that the pockmarks in the stone wall... Beautiful square. Sit down and relax and soak in the sun. Remember to bring water and watch your belongings.

The square has both the church of Sant Felip Neri and the Museu del Calcat. The history of the church & square is a bit sad with the death of 30 children sheltering inside the church during the Spanish civil war in 1938, you can still see the marks on the church wall. The museum houses a rear shoe collection,... More

Stumbled across this cool, lovely spot while meandering around the Gothic area. Every time we passed through there was a local troubadour playing music and people hanging out enjoying the moment.

It is a hidden small square. Very lovely and nice to pass. There are some street musicians occasionally and they are usually very good.

The place is located in the very center of Barcelona, in the Barrio Gotico, but it is very difficult to discover it accidentally because it is well hidden in the net of streat of this noisy barrio. Entering the square you will be enveloped and surprised by an astonishing silence, rather unbelievable because you are in the center of the... More

Beautifull tall trees and a central fountain invite to stay and enjoy the peace of this place, where if you are lucky music will complete the magical atmosphere.
