Old school

Lovely old wood panelled bar just off the Ramblas with formally dressed staff serving carefully made cocktails.

Want to time travel then step through the brown door with the yellow glass. You slip off the hustle of a 2017 Barcelona street into the calm and style of the 1930s nothing's changed here since it opened the last time I went was 11 years ago it felt like yesterday except for the prices! Exchange rate doe 't help.... More

Upon entering the tiny bar, packed full of people and full of wood-paneled atmosphere, we crouched into a corner at the bar where we managed to find the only 2 seats left in the place. The three tuxedoed bartenders were hustling about, and when my partner asked to see a menu we simply got the response, "No menu, classic cocktails".... More

My partner and I both got mojitos, one with alcohol and the other without coming to 18 euros. The one with alcohol had at least 2 shots I would say it was pretty strong. I wouldn't suggest staying here all night. It was a good experience to see the bar, lots of original features still there and some good history... More

The cocktails we had (Mojitos) did taste lovely and the service was good, however have had better cocktails at other places and at a price of 10Euros each didnt think it was worth the price to go back a second time.

Absolutely terrible place. They don't know how to make even basic cocktails. They use roses lime to make a gimlet! When we asked for fresh lime, the bartender was seriously rude. Avoid this place!

The place was recommended for us by locals and for sure it was not a disappointement we had a great experience.A small location with a friendly vibe which gets busy quite easily. Great quality of drinks.

So, #MWC17, aka Mobile World Congress 2017. We came here as a group of six, after three of us had scouted the old town and identified this bar as definitely worth checking out. TripAdvisor reviews were also glowing, so why not? The place is small, and has very nice and cosy vintage look and feel. The bartenders wear smokings, which... More

I have been to this bar a few times now. It's always lively and fun. They also do a mean Dirty Martini. The staff are friendly and old school, great cocktail makers and quick. Go.

We initially had issues splitting our bill 4 ways, but after we decided to go somewhere else, they were able to accommodate us. Food was good, but would just caution that compared to Canadian standards, they cook their meat a little more. So for example if you’re looking for Medium Rare, ask for Rare.

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
