Again a building with history, worthwhile for short visit. The vault is interesting with its prison cell with graffiti.

Lleida seems to have a lot of gothic and romanesque art living next to some very modernist building projects of the last twenty years. The very modern museum works well. The massive slablike building curving along the foot of the hill leading up to seu vella is more mixed and the lift to take you up there, and that bizarre tower in placa san joan for me just jar. But this is a city where change has been constant. The romanesque sits next to housing built in the last five years. This building shows some of the beauty and heritage of the city and is both noble and richly done.

It is a beautifully preserved medieval palace that serves as the local city government headquarters. The interior and exterior have a truly wonderful old world charm to them, and the site always has foot traffic and often some kind of event or exhibition. I always loved walking by this place.

It houses the local government or Town Hall of Lleida and offers the possibility to visit some parts of it. The dungeons are a little spooky if you think of what could have happened there some centuries ago. The building is very nice and has an outside stone bench that we call "Sinofós" as it is used to be occupied by old people who constantly say "si no fós.." (If it wasn't) when referring to the question by another person of "how are you?". Everbody in Lleida has sat at least once here as it is in the High Street

You enter the palace and you see the ancient cloister (now covered) with a nice little pit. But the best part is when you take the stairs and you go down in the basement. Besides the refreshment from the hot summer weather, you can see the ancient cellar, with thick walls, ladders and beatiful lancet arches.
