Despite many tourist guides warning of the aggressive monkeys we found a family which was very tame. One of them even showed us his skill in opening a zip. Definitely a must

We visited the Apes Den though not sure what we would see. When we arrived it was simply a feeding station for the apes. the floor was scattered bits of fruit and vegetable. Very untidy looking.

Previous visit we remember the apes being male and bigger. This time lots of mums and babies. We did not approach but they didn't move as we walked past them. Didn't feel scared or fear of them attacking.

I would be careful with that. When we went there were some young baby ones and some of the adult apes were pretty aggressive. Remember even though they see people daily they are wild animals. Some will come up to you... More

You can get to the apes den easily by going up in the cable car or you can take a taxi trip up which takes in all the important sights, apes den included.
