Not necessary to visit. Admire the castle from e.g. the city. Visiting the castle is only recommended if you are in the area. Would not be worth the cab money. If you are walking down the Rock and have the nature reserve ticket, it is free to go inside, but if you plan walking up again it is not really... More

According to the security officer the foundations of the castle lead to the Prison that was only put out of... More

This is more of a tower than what we consider a castle but it is showing its scars. It is, in fact, a tower within a tower. You will need to be fit to view this tower properly as there is a lot of steps to climb. One the way up you will be able rooms where you can still... More

This castle fortress built about 1000 yrs ago is pretty impressive. The very top has been renovated and provides great views.

We spent about 15 minutes here. It was a stop on our taxi tour of the rock. It's a really old castle! An interesting fact was that the lower level was used as Gibraltar's prison until recently. I'm assuming you can get a paid tour, but we just walked around the grounds and into the gate at the top. You... More

The title says it pretty much all. There is not much to see, the accessible part of the castle is the tower, which one can climb on rather narrow stairs. The view from the top is not great, as the castle is not very high above the town. For nicer views (without going up to the top of the Rock)... More

This is an expensive event (8 euros) and not worth it. You are better off reading about it. There are steep steps to climb and you could easily be pushed off! There are no rooms to visit - you will not be visiting a castle, just climbing steps! The ticket collector they had on April 24th,2017 was extremely rude to... More

The castle is a medieval fortification comprising various buildings, gates and fortified walls, with the dominant features being the Tower of Homage and the Gate House/Citadel (the one with the domed roof). The Tower of Homage is clearly visible to all visitors to Gibraltar, not only because of its construction but also because of its dominant and strategic position, having... More

This was a stop off point after being exhausted from walking down from the top,I always try to imagine what it must have been like all those years ago,When you leave if you are walking follow the road to the church it's much easier than what felt like a couple of thousand steps.
