This walk must surely be on your Gibraltar "bucket list"! As we have officially reached retirement age, we think it's entirely reasonable to walk down the steps! Even catching the cable car at just after 9am, ensures a very warm walk and it's essential to...More

It's a hard walk up the Med steps but well worthwhile. The views are incredible. Take plenty of water and wear sensible footwear. Once your at the summit and walk back down is easy. A must do it you come to Gibraltar.

Brilliant views. Hard work. water, camera and sun cream essential. There is a charge to gain access to the nature reserve going up at Jews Gate. Going down I assume the charge is incorporated in the price of the cable car or taxi should you...More

I love this walk. Would recommend doing it early in the morning or later in the day when its cooler, also not on a day with Lavanta. A great walk on its own, but also has a historical interest: Built by the British to allow...More

Dontr try this if your not fit or use to walking. Trial form Jews gate is fine. As you go around the back of The Rock it becomes verry steap and has shear dropps down to the sea. In places there are hand ropes to...More

We saw the steps whilst on a tour of The Rock. They looked amazing, but you would have to be exceedingly fit to climb them. Definately not for the faint hearted!

Amazing place and historic but be warned not for the weak, serious work out you are basically ascending the rear face of the rock by stairs, lots of and very old so very high as well, care has to be taken.

On your trek up the Med Steps you will see the Rock from many different vantage points. It is hard work if you are not in shape but worth the soar limbs. I'm a bit scared of heights but the steps have been well secured...More

The steps require above average fitness, if not I'm sure you will feel it in your knees the following day. The view are very nice, and you get to see the Rock from a different perspective than the common one. About midway there is a...More

Hi John. .only saw your post now. yes, take the cableway up and walk down. Wear shoes with a good grip and a hat if it's hot. I suggest you carry a water bottle. After leaving the steps, you "follow your nose" towards the... More
