Make sure that you have your passport with you because you need to show it to gain entry to this fine museum, you also need a 1€ coin to put your bags etc into . This is not about Rioja wine but about the history...More

Nicely maintained facility with a lot of history from the region with completely free access. Every area has a video explanation professionaly recorded.

Beautifully presented, the information ranged from prehistoric to the twentieth century. The only area that I felt was a bit neglected was the period of the Moors, otherwise I enjoyed the story of the area unfolding.

Just in case the name of this museum puts people off, perhaps I should clarify that it is not about wine! It charts the history of the Rioja region from stone age until the 19th Century and is situated in a rather nice old palace....More

We spent two hours visiting here. The museum impressed us very much. It is well laid out starting with prehistory on the first floor and moving up to almost modern times. There are excellent notice boards giving information written in Spanish and English as well...More
