Excellent introduction to Madrid. This tour gives a taste of things to see and do. Above all the outstanding guide, David, made the historical squares and alleys come alive with his vivid descriptions of famous characters and times gone by. I learnt so much - adn came away determined to read several novels that have been sitting on my list... More

I booked this bike tour for a group of 9. We were only in Madrid for a long weekend and it was the perfect way to see the city and main sites. Our guide David was excellent - he knew some really interesting facts about the city and he really inspired our trip. Thank you - I'll definitely recommend to... More

We went for the bike tour on a Sunday, which was a good choice as the roads seemed a little quieter. We also took a bus trip around the city, but didn't see many of the lovely parkland/lakes that we managed to see with the bikes. Casper, our guide was very informative and friendly. We stopped half-way round for beer/wine... More

Well, first of all, thanks for taking the time to comment in such detail, and we are glad that overall you found it a pleasant and informative experience. As regards your observation about the length of the tour, be aware that the standard duration is indeed 3 hours and maximum 3 1/2. If the tour exceeds this, it means that... More

We decided to book a group tour on 13/5/17 with Bravo and it was awesome. Mirta, the guide, was excellent and showed us round this beautiful city, stopping at all of the key sites (Palace, Retiro Park etc), informing us of the history and everything we needed to know. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours... More

Was quite sceptical about this to start as Madrid has hills !!! Dave (probably the most English Spaniard you will ever meet ) was awesome. He combined a clear passion for Spanish history with a genuine sense of humour ... such that we came away full of fascinating snippets of information about Madrid without ever feeling we have been lectured... Thanks for your kind comment. Indeed many clients who visit Madrid for the first time are unaware that there are hills, but our bike route is organised so that the gentle uphills are no problem for any competent cyclist. And if you are into Spanish history, there are many more fascinating things we can show you, so do come and... More

It is a lovely trip in Madrid. David was out guide. He knew very well to explain briefly but in a precise manner the spots we were travelling by. The roads were just fine and no need to be afraid of the traffic and the crowd. We were navigated safely in roads that are designated for bikes. David speaks English... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
