This museum has Guernica, one fabulous painting, at it did not disappoint. I'd seen plenty of images of Guernica, but there was something about seeing the huge canvas in front of me that was very special. Also, the museum does a very good job of...More

This museum has Guernica by Pablo Picasso and many of his other paintings and sketches. You begin to appreciate what made him so special. There are also many other modern artists represented. Their inner courtyard is very peaceful.

This place, also called Madrid's MoMA, shows different kinds of modern art, including temporal expositions with audio-visuals artworks. It is near to Museo del Prado and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, in a zone call Paseo del Arte. If you like art and/or plan to visit Madrid several...More

There were more modern, famous painters in one place than I have ever experienced. The movies made during the time periods were a clever touch.

Picasso's Guernica is the most viewable piece of work in this gallery - and in reality it is much more impressive as on photos ! Must see !

Thats the reason for me to visit this museum and it did not disappoint. Guernica was crowded as expected but work your way slowly to the front. In the nearby rooms are many drawings preparatory to the work so play a game of trying to...More

This national museum of modern art is a must for all in Madrid though those who find modern art difficult will probably find much of the exhibits puzzling - even those very familiar with some of the great modern artists of Europe and North America....More

Visited the Reine Sofia but wish I had gone to the Thyssen (which I visited years ago) as the focus on 20th century art makes the collections too specialist for my taste. Unless you are a fan of modern art, other museums /galleries have more...More

Because St. Petersburg, FL is home to the US’s version of the Dali Museum, we couldn’t miss seeing his works at this museum. To say nothing of the necessity of viewing the Picasso display here. We toured with a private guide, an art history graduate...More

I would purchase all tickets online before you go. If you go to the Sophia on free night, it is just a guess. We walked right in and got a ticket, even though it was free. I guess that is the way that they track... More

Try their website. There must be information on that. Also, if you have children of college age - make sure they bring their ID as they are free or at a very good discount
