Retiro Park is an understated gem in Madrid. Fortunately it is large enough for many to enjoy without feeling crowded. We enjoyed a coffee early on in our tour of the park. There are several places to purchase snacks throughout the park as well as...More

5 stars for this park! It is absolutely massive - so much so we had to visit it twice as we forgot to visit one side of it the first time! There is a lot to see and do in here / you can just...More

This place is green, vibrant, energetic. Visited not only by tourist but locals as well. I wished to see better sings since once you are in, it is difficult to orient yourself. The signs are mostly for fountains, areas inside the park.

Pretty and peaceful (in spite of the crowd) in the heart of Madrid. Walk around, go for a run or sit on a bench and people watch.

Huge park, but one of the most beautiful in Europe. Worth having a stroll around while admiring the multitude of plants and statues. The one that impressed me the best is the Statue of the Fallen Angel, which is unique in Europe.

This park is amazing! The opening is absolutely beautiful with lots of trees, benches and pathways and then you carry on to lots of different parts of the park, including a boating lake, cafes, tree lined walks and different ornate areas. It is a pleasure...More

It doesn’t seem very deep and it looks very safe. More of a big pond than a lake, I think. Hope this helps! 😊

Much of the park has walkways, trees, monuments and water features. There are a few small grass patches that are open with no trees however I do not remember seeing any wide open grass areas that you could throw a Frisbee... More
