This is a must visit in Madrid - a great neighbourhood for art and culture, the park being a lovely place to relax and let the kids run loose for a bit. The rowing lake is lovely as are the many beautiful fountains. There are also lots of kiosks for cheap eats!

Perfect for a sunny afternoon stroll or a jog. This is Madrid's small version of NYC Central Park. Walk to the small lake and if interested rent a small rowboat for fun. Lots of family, children, and dogs on Sunday afternoon.

Business trip so lots of time in a basement, nice walk to stretch the legs to Retiro park. Very well used place, even in winter, lots of runners and families out for an evening stroll. Would be nice to go there in the daytime but there was enough light early evening, families using the play areas.

This is a beautiful park in the centre of Madrid, well laid out and a excellent way to wind down after a hectic day.

We took the kids rowing in the park like the locals and it was loads of fun. The park is also good for a picnic.

A big park. We relaxed in here after visiting the Carmen Thyssen Bornemisza collection and before our 2nd free evening visit to the Prado. we walked up the statue avenue and the laid out formal garden. we did not take in the lake.

We went there on a nice sunny day in February and enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the tree mazes. The garden is very well kept and is filled with beautiful statues and fountains (not all of them have water though). Even though there were a lot of people and families around it did not feel crowded at all. The highlight... More

Nice and huge park mid Madrid. This is where the Madrilinians come in the weekend, to stroll around or to sit and watch the crowds being here. Lots of street entertainers. Boats in the lake for rent. Small coffee shops. Rose garden. A nice place.

A great place to get away from the city with still being in the city. Enjoy the tranquility. See one of the many great statues and buildings.
