We went for the golden hours (5pm for winter times) to enjoy the sunset and brisk air over the dusk. It was one of a kind experience to see the park in that kinda of impresive light. People were waddling, kids were skating, old people chatting--it gave me a glimpse of tranquility over the hustle and bustle of downtown Madrid,... More

I had to leave a review after visiting this park. It's so beautiful! We went in a few days ago in late January, and despite it being cold, the views were stunning. We sat in the middle for a few hours as we had some time to kill. There is plenty to do there. Suitable for all ages. Refreshments available... More

If you visit Madrid, you simply cannot skip the most important park in the city. Some of the trees are in pretty bad condition, but the beauty of El Retiro is in their fountains, statues and so much history.

We visited Madrid at the beginning of November and though a tad chilly, we visited Retiro Park on a gorgeous sunny day. There is a boating lake, gardens, small kiosks to get snacks and drinks, you could easily spend a few hours here, if the weather is good. A lovely alternative to the bustling city.

Half of the structure was under construction, can't get the full image. Weather in Dec is good, cosy 15 degree with sunshine and many people doing boating, a long queue. The park is well maintained and large enough for rest and relax, and walking around. Must see attraction in Madrid.

Madrid's main park, El Parque de Retiro, is not far from the city's main tourist attractions such as the Prado Museum. Great place for a stroll. Home to several sculptures, monuments, and a boating lake. One of the best city parks I have seen. On par with NYCs Central Park but is mostly flat. There are outdoor cafes for beer... More

this green park with large pond in the centre of Madrid is really worth a visit. Families stroll by, musicians and artists show their talents. you might even rent a boat to enjoy the water with it's impressive statues.

A peaceful place right in the middle of a very busy city. An atmosphere that takes one back in time; for sure if you can get a rocking chair in the greenhouse...

My husband and I are fortunate enough to live within walking distance of Parque del Retiro. It's great for runners, cyclists, rollerskaters, people having picnics, strolling around, and it's littered with little paths and benches, so you can always find a personal space to chill. A few cafés are dotted around, plus the Crystal Palace and the lake! A great... More

just massive, and beautiful, you really need to dedicate a full day, a kind of relaxing day to just wander around, but lots of walking. we hired segways near the entrance which was awesome to save our legs, and its a great place to learn how to use a segway as well... lots of roads and no cars!
