We've been doing a lot of travel around Europe and are always delighted when we see that Sandemans offers tours in that city. The tour guides haven't disappointed thus far, and Naomi was no different. She was able to make the history of Madrid come alive and added important cultural background as well. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide Mari was very passionate about Madrid and as a local was able to show us hidden treasures of this wonderful city. Mari interacts with the group in a fun and memorable way (loved the flamenco lesson) and also gives a great overview of the exceeding Spanish history - I don't think I'll ever forget when Madrid became... My mom and I took the free tour with Joaquinn to learn about the history of Madrid. It's an excellent tour to take at the beginning of your visit to get an idea of the trendy hotspots. You also get a discount for the Flamenco show as well as the pub crawl tour.

We had a tour guides by Fabrizio. He had a nice way of telling us all about Spanish history. It was very interesting and entertaining. And.. who can complain when you have a Christian Bale look a like guiding you around Madrid :)

I'm spending three days in Madrid and I am so glad my travel buddy and I spent 2.5 hours of that time on this tour with Enrique! Sandeman's was recommended to us by a friend and I would certainly pass that recommendation on to others. Our guide, Enrique, was funny, friendly, well-spoken, and full of interesting facts about Madrid (and... More

As usual, Sandemans tours are a great opportunity to know the main sites of the city and get deep into historical and fun facts. Enrique was our guide and gave us a great time, in which we didn't even feel the time passing by.

Went on the Sandemans new Europe Madrid tour this morning with Enrique the guide. Enrique's guiding was enducating, interesting and entertaining. In only a only a few hours the tour encapsulated history, culture, social life and anecdotes. I've taken several Sandeman tours in Europe, all tours were great and this one did not disappoint. Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
