It is weird. The place changed a lot for worse. The river that runs through it has lots of plastic and smells very bad

A great open space with a wide trail for walking, running, or cycling. There were a number of smaller playgrounds along the route and you really only have to cross 1 major road along a 6km stretch. We rented a family cycle from Eco Moving Sports at an hourly rate and joined the crowd along the river.

Nice park built along the river in Madrid. There are many playgrounds and cafes around. Very suitable for walking, there is also a nice view of several bridges over the river.

Madrid has done a fantastic job of making this long section of the river into a boulevard punctuated with parks. If you include the less formal section north of casa de Campo, it runs at least 20km. Very popular with bar-restuarants on the walk as well as in the street running alongside for parts of the way. If you keep going south it becomes open country with a good path and parks along the river. Also good for cyclists.

One of the places I enjoyed while in Madrid was the Parque Madrid Rio. I loved the many photo opportunities this place has to offer ... nature, health buffs working out, old bridges, modern bridges, and the fact that it was not busy and is big. A great way to stay healthy ... forget the gym. This park is the way to go.

I walked one direction the first day of my visit and went the opposite direction the following day. Lots of things to see and take pictures of.

This is a lovely park along the Madrid river. Very place to have a stroll. Not crowded and definitely not a tourist spot. Lots of locals.

We walked the Madrid rio from Puente de Segovia to Legazpi. Its quite a walk but enjoyed it a lot because of the nice sunny weather. In the beginning you see the ROyal palace and walk toward more residential area passing the old Athletic stadium which is being demolished. A nice way to mingle with locals in one of the bars on the riverside. I has chance to practise my Spanish too. Muy recomendable!

We spent a beautiful Saturday enjoying the February sunshine in the river park. It’s amazing, particularly the size and scale of the regeneration project . We got a bus from outside our hotel straight to the Matadero, the old slaughterhouse turned cultural and social centre, which itself is a fascinating showpiece. From there we rented bikes and had a great day exploring, stopping off at a cafe along the way. Highly recommend as an antidote to the usual tourist stuff!

Nice on a bright winter's day. There are cafes dotted around to sit for a drink and people watch. You can hire rowing boats on the lake and they have a boat trip in a solar powered boat.

Kind of quiet on Christmas morning. But, a lot of joggers and people walking or playing with their dog. Some organized activities, exercise related
