Well worth visiting if you have a few days in Madrid!
Very pleasant stroll along a renovated river bank ( both sides). There are many benches and good areas for picnics. The river itself is narrow and shallow, but is pretty, with lots of little islands supporting large water birds. There are multiple footbridges for crossing the river, and we easily found subway stations near the beginning and end of our walk. There was at least one cafe in the park itself, and multiple eating options near the park. We had been looking forward to exploring it since we like river walks, and we were not disappointed.

    Much Better!
The park has undergone extensive renovations to make it the impressive space it is today. There is something for pretty much everyone, whether it’s enjoying the gardens, walking a dog, or just taking a leisurely stroll. Tip: early morning is quite peaceful.

    Great time
For a capital city Madrid is pretty relaxed. It feels safe and the traffic volumes are pretty low with many electric vehicles, which helps. Wonderful architecture, good food. plenty of parks. Taxis and busses were relatively cheap. I did not use the underground. In October temperatures were still in 31-35 C range so probably not a place to visit. in July/Aug

Parque Madrid Rio is a wonderful park area that's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area, either side of the River Manzanares ( more a trickle than a river ) its a great urban park area with lovely well kept park lands ,water features and two great looking bridges to admire namely Puerto De Toledo and Puerto De Prago ,its an area population with walkers, joggers and cyclists and is a beautiful walk ,best views are from the bridges ,all in all its a great park area to check out if you're in the area or planning a holiday to Madrid.

There are plenty of benches and paths for walking. Not very much shade, so if very sunny or hot, be prepared for the weather conditions. It was very clean when we were visiting.

The Madrid Río Park was a huge project to renovate the city’s former industrial riverside and was finally completed in 2011. Although the redevelopment encompasses a large section of the river all the way from Puente de los Franceses in the North West, most people refer to Rio Park as the specific area around the photogenic Puente De Argonzuela which includes the majority of the play areas, the skate park and the so called Rio Beach with all its play fountains.
We spent a very enjoyable Saturday morning walking the Manzanares River starting at the Puenta del Rey after emerging from the nearby Principe Pio Metro station and followed its course past Puente de Segovia, then the Puente de Toledo before finishing at the Puente de Argonzuela. Its very peaceful in parts and a haven for wildlife throughout. There are many information boards along its route (albeit just in Spanish) , but these do detail the main structures along the route and several detail the wildlife that can be seen, especially the very many different bird species that are drawn here by the fauna and reed beds of the slow moving river.
Then the main park area around the Puente De Argonzuela is very much designed for wildlife of the two legged kind and what really impressed me was how it has been designed to accommodate a multitude of uses. Throughout this section there is a wide meandering pathway ideal for cyclists and skaters and then a more direct walking route that utilises this meandering path in sections and then connects loops with its own walking path. And then dotted amongst this is the many children’s play areas and then the Rio Beach, which is not really a beach but an area of fun fountains and grass areas which I imagine is an excellent spot for the small ones on a hot Madrid Summers day.
There are many Café’s and Tabernas along the route and there are Metro stations on both sides of the river along its route that can be easily accessed to get you back into central Madrid.

Such a nice place to walk around and chill out. Madrid is beautiful in winter and this is a great park in the middle of the city

It is weird. The place changed a lot for worse. The river that runs through it has lots of plastic and smells very bad

A great open space with a wide trail for walking, running, or cycling. There were a number of smaller playgrounds along the route and you really only have to cross 1 major road along a 6km stretch. We rented a family cycle from Eco Moving Sports at an hourly rate and joined the crowd along the river.

Nice park built along the river in Madrid. There are many playgrounds and cafes around. Very suitable for walking, there is also a nice view of several bridges over the river.
