Even though there is an entry fee to go up to the rooftop terrace it is the best one in the city. the drinks are not crazily overpriced as in some other rooftops. the views are great, good music, good atmosphere

Great building, worst service in Madrid. The staff is rude, slow and couldn't care less if you stay or not.

Got a table easily late-afternoon on a weekday, but there was a queue by the time we left just before 8. Beautiful views, slow service (both table and bar) but drink.prices pretty reasonable. Highly recommended!

Fantastic views of most of the city and all for 4 euros per person. You get there via a lift which can make you wait a little but absolutely worth it. There's also a bar at the top in case you need to sit and relax. It's right at the end of the Gran Via (eastern end) and well worth... More

The view from the rooftop bar was fantastic! Easily worth the €4 cover charge. We spent about two hours lying out underneath a canopy drinking cocktails and beers. Some staff were okay, but for the most part the rudeness shown to us left a sour taste. I would recommend, but do not go for the service.

This is a great place to go during the day as the views are amazing. You can chill out up there with a drink on the beds. Great to top up your tan :) there is also a restaurant up there which we didn't eat in but I think it would be a lovely place to go for food in... More

Fun place for an afternoon drink on a beautiful day! The elevator cost 4 euros per person, but if the weather is good it is definitely worth it! Quick ride to the top and lots of places to sit and have a drink and enjoy the sunshine! Great place for photos too!

Perfect spot to have a refreshing drink in summer. Great views on the city centre. Great to come with a couple or a friend.

WAS SO WORTH THE 4 EURO fee. The views are AMAZING!!!!! The drinks are very good and to top of it off the music set the vibe. Highly recommend making a reservation if you plan on eating. We didn't know this so we could not eat there but we could still drink. Will recommend to all who travel to Madrid.

Went to see the sunset and it was great, there was a long line to get in and it costs 4euro. There are lots of seats and a bar to get something to drink, go when weather is good.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
