This is a wonderful street to walk with historic and beautifully crafted buildings with all the major retail brands. The only drawback is the large volume of people during the day but definitely worth the walk. The more premium shopping area is in Salamanca.

You can't visit Madrid without wandering along the Gran Via. Every sort of shop and eatery is available, and it is simply gorgeous.

Gran Via is very, very busy and crowded place. Shopping, restaurants, etc. on every corner and so many things happening day or night. Madrid summer city impulse makes you sweet, tired but at the same time enjoyable. I am sure to visit Madrid again.

Nice walk if you feel like shopping in some international brands or stop by the Real or Atletico shops. But we definitely enjoyed the buildings and architecture. That's the really amazing thing here.

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,
restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and
churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as
