I visited the Palacio Real in February. What an incredible sight to see! The sumptuous luxury of the Spanish royalty in the 17th and 18th centuries has to be seen to be believed. This Royal Palace may be even more remarkable than Versailles (though it lacks the gardens). Take the tour and get the audio guide. If you like medieval... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Palacio Real in Madrid. The tour was really enjoyable and I enjoyed seeing where the royal family lived and ruled. however, my visit would have been greatly enhanced if the audio tours would have been available. Unfortunately, they didn't have any left by the time I arrived. The written signs were mainly in... More

After living in Europe for 6 years I've seen a lot of royal palaces, so I wanted to add this one to the list. First time here we passed up the inside tour as I hadn't heard much about it from other travelers. So we went in the 2nd trip, and I thought it was beautiful. Is it worth the... More

I didnt feel very good the day I went here but I loved it. The cathedral across and the palace are of course ..gorgeous but I wished they showed more of the rooms there. All in all great time, a must see if you are in Madrid.

I m a resident in Spain for more than a decade and never had the chance to visit EL Pardo. It was nice discovery that the area is naturally absolutely beautiful. The castle is ok even with some vey nice rooms to visit but not really a spectacular one. We were surprised by unkind personnel at the ticket office and... More

During out driving tour of the royal palaces that satellite around Madrid, we visited the Royal Palace of El Pardo. This very impressing cream coloured wall and grey roofed building was originally a hunting lodge dating back to the Habsburgs as it is set in vast wooded parkland known as the Monte de El Pardo. Of the many attributes identified... More

The Palace is like any other in Western Europe, however it also houses the Military museum and the Pharmacy Museum, which are worth a visit to marvel or shudder at times past. The Palace is free in the evenings.

Note the long line that is for folks awaiting free admission at ~ 6 PM. Pay the fee and avoid the line or go earlier. Worth 2 hours of your time looking at the many rooms, the armory, and the view.

Really enjoyed visiting the Palace - the state rooms are stunning. As an EU citizen you can get free entry most evenings between 18:00-20:00 with proof of residency - check online for details.

We visited the outside...to go inside was too costly for my mom and not worth it...but it's a lovely area. Warning, though, be careful of crowds as my mom was pickpocketed here!
