I went with a tour group, and found out from others that you can't really get there on your own, without a reservation. You go into an open round add-on from the 1500s and you think--wow! But then you get into the "older" part built before that and it's gorgeous, intricate and over the top. The detail work still standing... More

Spent four hours exploring the grounds and palaces of this amazing Moorish site. Particularly loved the Generalife gardens. Water features everywhere. Amazing architecture and design elements. Well organized and so large a space that it never feels crowded. Loved it!

Amazing castle with many visible remnants from the arabic culture mixed in with european. The gardens around it are so nice and fresh - in the summer it feels like heaven with water streaming down from the top!

This castle is just amazing. As mentioned by other reviewer before, it is critical that previous online ticket is booked before entering this place. Entrance ticket can NOT be bought in the spot. The area is quite large and it will take a full day to enjoy the area. So proper snack and drink is critical here. To visit Palace... More

Travelling through the glorious times of Andalucian Islamic kingdom was terrific and speechless. All I can sum up was brilliant architecture with great manpower!

To be totally honest I'd expected more. We visited on a showery and cloudy day having pre-booked. The overall on-site signage is very poor and uninformative. It may sound blaise but once you've seen one beautiful ceiling they all tend to look the same. Access to several parts of the site was restricted due to repairs, and garden upkeep -... More

A bit of research on the website explains the procedure for acquiring tickets and it works perfectly well if this is followed. I booked in advance and had no difficulty whatsoever as the staff at the ticket collection shop were extremely helpful. The only grumblings I heard on the day were from those who had not booked in advance or... More

Wonderful place and a true must see in a lifetime. Eye candy from start to finish combined with culture, history, art and architecture. Only downside was 35 minutes queuing without movement in out queu and then getting the tickets from a machine at slightly higher price out of frustration. The crow organisation there was absolutely awful and is a great... More

Always wanted to visit this place as history n architecture lover. It was even better than I imagine, the only downsite is the size of it. We spent 4h there and it wasnt enough to see everything.
