Walking

Excellent area to walk and is good for disabled people too as it is very flat. Good restaurants and bars all the way along the front. Very pretty area and the mar menor

Several salt lakes which are home to a variety of wild fowl. We went in March and the large lake had just been filled with seawater as the production of sea salt rests on filling the Lake with seawater, allowing it to evaporate and then collecting the salt left behind. The water was a rusty red colour as another reviewer... More

probably the color of water very depend on weather conditions. When we came to see it in March, the color was very close to rusty water, no pink at all.... the coast is not properly managed, not enough paths or any relaxing zones.

Nice little museum, worth a visit. Its at the end of what is known as the yellow brick road. Great insight to what was and still is. Torrevieja salt industry.

These salt lakes dominate this area and the larger one appears to regularly change colour from green to pink. Fascinating. Most areas around here have views over the salt lakes. There are many walks that you can do around them.

Torrevieja has two great lakes which are worth to see while you are here; The salt lake and the nature park lake. The salt like shows as purple in the evening sun and the banks of the lake are really salty, so beware to wear your third best jogging shoes. Some do bath in the lake, have mud treatments even... With a lot more salt than the Dead Sea rosa lakes make floating on water a peace of cake. People come from all over to cover themselves in the nutrient rich skin rejuvenate mud of the lakes. Make sure your sunglasses are on because the suns reflection off the salt beach and lakes is very bright
