When we took a boat tour around the Capri Island, our main goal was to see the Blue Grotto and Faraglioni, the two most famous and beautiful sightseeings around. The Green Grotto (grotta verde) was just one of the other stops, among the white and red grotto, but it was my favorite among these minor things. Soooo beautiful! The rock has these stunning layers of colors (yellowish and greenish) and the water is so clear and light blue - just wow! There were people swimming there but I guess they came with a private boat. We visited between 12-2PM and the light was perfect!

Be sure to check the tides and sunrise and sunset before scheduling your visit. The lighting is very unusual and there can be long lines during the summer tourist season. When the tide is high there is often too little clearance to allow access into the cave. When the sun goes down the colors are not as fascinating. The trip to Capri is worth the cost and time with wonderful restaurants in town and on the coas. You change boats to enter the Green Grotta. There are other a little less exciting inlets where you may swim through archways.

One of the stops when you take a boat trip. The colors are unbelievable and also the rocks in different shapes. You are close to nature and you will remember it whit a smile on your face. And the photos :)

This is really green when you go in from a specific direction. You can swim and enjoy the water and cave.
