I can't fathom how they can charge to enter this site, there's nothing to see. The church offers very little, architecturally and it's by no means beautiful inside, they would be literally thousands of better churches to visit throughout Europe and Italy. I'm not sure...More

What a wonderful visit to La Certosa di San Giacomo! Lovely building and paintings, plenty enough to explore. We would highly recommend finding your way through to the garden where you'll be greeted with stunning coastal views of Capri. What a highlight!

What a lovely quiet spot when we visited the island of Capri. Not sure if the guided tours come or not but the peace and quiet was welcome. Lovely to wander around the church buildings and out into the garden area. The paintings on the...More

The Certosa is a great place to visit, not only for the beauty of the place and the seascape one can admire, but also for the awesome collection of paintings on Capri by Diefenbach, from the teosophical circle.

To get away from the hordes of people in the main piazza walk to the Certosa Di San Giacomo and traverse the arched colonnade used by the Cappicin monks and see the 17th century frescoes high up the walls

We visited and were charged 4 euros each to enter. At least there were a couple of small art exhibitions to enjoy. The church interior is decorated with old wall paintings which are past their best and the old portico garden was partially boarded up...More

Such a shame because this good be a real beauty however it has been so left to collapse on itself. If you have time to spare and want a few minutes of piece from the crowded streets of capri then go.
