The Teatro di San Carlo looks like nothing special from the outside, but it is breathtaking. We took our daughters to see Alice in Wonderland, a modern ballet and it was a really lovely experience. The ballet was an extremely modern take on the story,...More

Honestly took my breath away the moment I stepped inside! We got the tour included in our Artecard purchase (34 euros first 5 attractions for free) and the guide was very good telling us all the history of the theatre and taking us to different...More

I was very lucky to buy a last minute ticket, one hour before the opening night of La Traviata. It was sold out, but if you go to the Ticket Office an hour before, there are (sometimes) people wanting to sell a ticket or two....More

We went just for a regular classical music evening. Getting the tickets online was somewhat hard as the mail link to get tickets did not work but by clicking around on the website, I was about to get the tickets. At the theater, the staff...More

From Napoli Cruise Terminal it is very easy to reach (within 30 minutes by walk) Teatro Di San Carlo. This theatre was built in 1737 under King Charles of Bourbon to provide the city with a modern theatre with stunning acoustics. In 1816 Teatro di...More

Got tickets to days before the ballet mainly so we could see the opera house. But the ballet was really enjoyable. Seats for comfortable and view was good from seats

What a thrill it was to sit in this 1737 opera house and watch a traditional (non-Eurotrash!) production of La Traviata. We are hikers, so dressing for the orchestra seats is always a bit tense, and in this case I had to settle for low-cut...More

I visited the teather not for a play, but just to enjoy it as a monument.. And it was a good idea: the teather is great, full of history and curious things. They organized guided tour (both in english and in italian), which helps you...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Are there any performances at Teatro di San Carlo in November or December of 2017? We don't see any after early November. We truly want to see a performance while we are there - would love to see the Opera, especially! Will new performances be added to the November/December schedule soon?

When we visited a week ago or so they were building a set on stage so perhaps yes. I would contact them direct on telephone as they all seem to speak numerous languages.
Does anyone know if this is open on April 25th (Italian holiday)?

Is the theater adult only? We are planning a visit with our 1.5 year old and would love to go see an opera but do not have a babysitter.
