Real Rome Tours is a small team of local guides, licensed and experienced in giving guided tours of Rome and the Vatican in English.

Although all of our guides are licensed tour guides in Rome and the Vatican, they each have our own areas of expertise. We have archaeologists, art historians, and university lecturers among our ranks, and as our reputation has grown we continue to invite similarly-qualified guides to join us.

Our philosophy is simple: We believe that tours should be fun as well as informative. We also believe that our customers are best served in small groups. For this purpose, we strictly limit our semi-private tours to only 13 people.

Our fees are honest and reflect the small sizes of our groups. We include ticket prices in our tour fees where tickets are applicable, and we always skip the lines. Headsets are provided so you can walk around and still hear your live guide.

Our customer base and reputation have been growing steadily over the past few years, and we promise to continue to strive to deliver the perfect Rome experience for all our future guests. We hope to see you on one of our tours in 2016!

I recently decided to take a chance and try Real Rome Tours. I was traveling with my family with a group of 7 adults and thought that the personal guide might enhance the experience. This turned out to be the right decision. Our guide was excellent. His English was flawless and his educational background and knowledge of history and art... More

Awesome tour of Collesium and Forum! Our guide had her phD in art history and knew so much about everything she showed us. This was my second time at the Collesium, but first time on the 3rd floor and underground - highly recommend! I learned so much!!!

My husband and I, as well as the other 10 fellow english speaking tourists, thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tour of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, including the underground. Our guide gave us a history lesson that we will always remember. She had visual items to show us what the places visited looked like when originally constructed. She made the... More

We booked last minute the Colosseum & Palatine Hill and it was totally worth it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and our tour included access to the top and underground of the Colosseum which it was great. It was about 4-5 hours. Highly recommend.

Booked two tours with Real Rome Tours. Ancient Rome & Colosseum Underground Tour - Semi-Private Option and VIP: Vatican Early Bird Semi-Private Tour. Both tours were excellent. From my first contact with the company I found them to be most helpful and very professional. Gerard and Marina were fantastic to deal with. There was only six in total on each... More

We did semi-private Vatican early bird tour and a semi-private Ancient Rome. Great experience, would highly recommend as you get to skip the lines, which are insane for Vatican for example, and you get to enjoy the sights with very knowledgeable guides. Totally worth the money!!

This is the second time I have been to Rome, and on both occasions I have used Real Rome Tours to see the sights. Both times, they have been brilliant- from the initial booking process, confirming the tours, notifying us of any changes (The Basilica was due to close early on the day we originally booked, so they let us... This was a fantastic informative tour of the Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and the Colossuem which was worth every penny. Our tour guide for the morning Alessio's knowledge was astonishing and his presentation was clear and concise and he also took the time to answer all of our questions that we had throughout the 3 hour tour. We all had... More
