If you think Pompi's Tiramisu is the best then you are wrong. Chef Andrea trained us to do the best Tiramisu, I ever had ! We were a class of Two Canadians, Three Aussies, Three American and us(an Indian Couple!). We had a good time. We made good food. Chef taught us the Nuances of Italian Cooking. He didn't really... Cooking Classes in Rome is a wonderful experience because of Chef Andrea. He is a remarkable teacher, who not only presents a fabulous step-by-step four-course menu made with fresh local ingredients, but explains the history of Roman meals and how to organize the preparation of various items to complete the entire meal on time. He orchestrates the event so that... More

Signed up for the class and I can honestly say that the experience was amazing. I've been doing everything wrong! I had been completely missing the subtlety of Italian cooking. I'm so inspired by this class that I'd love to take more, not just with Chef Andrea, but in other parts of the world. My only fear is that other... More

Chef Andrea is not only a terrific chef, he is a fabulous teacher. Though a true Roman, his English is excellent. He taught us about the history of Roman and Italian food, what to look for when shopping at the market, and step-by-step how to prepare a four-course meal. There were eight of us, and each of us was hands-on... More

I can't recommend Chef Andrea's class highly enough. We made a delicious 4-course meal, and throughout the instruction, he gave so many great tips that will translate to better cooking no matter what I am preparing. The food was delicious, and he makes the class so much fun. I came to the class straight from the airport after a missed... More

I was a solo traveler to Rome and this by far was my favorite day of my week long visit! I knew in my planning I wanted to take a cooking class and came across 'Cooking Classes in Rome' online. I contacted Chef Andrea who was very quick to respond with information on the class and how to sign up.... More

Interesting but , not that great experience. Was not happy with used as an example of poor knife skills, not keeping my work space clean, tho no direction was provided. Not professional to pick on the only vegetarian in the group.

Ciao Mph44, Thanks for your comment. However, I am unclear of the points you made. And this makes me believe you have taken a cooking class with another company here in Rome. I would never "pick on" a vegetarian. I am the first to ask via email if anyone has any food concerns/restrictions (and/or requests) to make sure I am... More

We had the opportunity to enjoy a private cooking class. We made pasta two ways- spaghetti and ravioli. All from scratch. It was delicious! Great instruction. Easy to follow. Fun environment. Then we made gelato which was superb. This is a wonderful experience for those traveling through Rome and want to cook like an Italian. We have taken cooking classes... More

Fun and informative, Chef Andrea was very entertaining and kept us all occupied preparing the meal. Learned some good techniques as well as history of certain dishes.

Artichokes are in season from now until the end of February. Andrea took us through selecting to sculpting to stuffing to cooking (one finger oil, two fingers stock). The results were divine! Definitely the best takeaway that I can use back home

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
