Chef Andrea's cooking class was AMAZING! My wife's uncle got this class as a gift for my wife, her parents and I during our recent visit to Rome. The class was interactive, educational, and very informative. Chef Andrea has a very witty personality that shone through during our 6 (!) hours with him. Not only did we enjoy some incredible... Pile a table high with fresh, local food and set twelve strangers at another one, have the skilled hands & knowledge, sharp wit and lovable personality of a friendly chef - and you have the makings for a wonderful day that concludes with a fun, festive meal served by Chef Andrea to his cooking Class in Rome! Worth repeating -... More

We can't stop talking about that wonderful day in Chef Andrea's kitchen. The lessons were fun but serious, and we learned not only classic Roman dishes in a relaxed setting but also some of the fascinating culinary history of Trastevere, classic cooking techniques, how to pair local wines with local ingredients and so much more. As we completed our month... More

Our cooking class in Rome was one of the BEST things we did during our trip. My boyfriend and I studied abroad in Rome and were back to visit for the first time since living here, and this experience was exactly what we were looking for. Andrea is hilarious and does a great job of creating a comfortable atmosphere in... More

Wow! I took 20 freshmen and 4 adults to a cooking class with Chef Andrea and it was the most memorable experience. The children, who had no cooking experience, were given individual tasks in the beautiful kitchen and made to feel important. Chef Andrea was warm and helpful, but really had the children take ownership of everything, from the creation... More

A highlight of our trip. Chef Andrea is a warm, passionate and engaging person. His classes are well honed experiences -- the recipes are accessible to novices but still fun for experienced home cooks. Our menu was artichokes over a zucchini purée, cavatelli with arrabiatta sauce (with a portion made not spicy for my kids), blood orange chicken with agretti... More

I went with a student group, and chef Andrea was hospitable, patient, and an incredibly good teacher. This is essential if you visit Rome. Food is such an important part of the culture, and Chef Andrea really gives it its due.

Chef Andrea’s cooking class was by far the best thing we did on our European vacation. This all day class included cooking a 4 course meal from start to finish. The chef gets local fresh food the morning of the class to ensure we are working with fresh ingredients. He does a great job engaging the class and allowing the... More

After reading all the good reviews online, I decided to book this class for my partner's birthday while we were in Rome. It was the highlight of our trip! The ingredients were all in season, fresh and good quality and Andrea's teaching style was brilliant. His character and humour put us all at ease and he made the whole day... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
